How do I log a walk-in or reach-in temperature?
Readings are taken in the Temperature log module: every cold-holding unit (walk-in, reach-in, freezer…) has its own tile showing its range and its last value.
- Tap the unit's tile: it moves into the To validate list, on the right on a tablet, at the bottom on a phone.
- Set the value shown on your thermometer with − and + (one degree at a time), or type it on the keyboard.
- Tap the next unit, and so on: all the units for this meal period line up in the same list.
- Under Who, tap your first name, then Validate.
The whole batch is saved at once, with the time and the name, and goes straight into the register. From the Today screen, tapping a task such as "Walk-in cooler" opens the module with that unit already in the list.
Tip: the tablet works without a signal, inside the walk-in or the back storage. Readings are sent on their own when the connection is back, and if several tablets are used in the kitchen, each one shows the others' readings.
