How do I add a cooler or a freezer?
Units are set up under Settings › Modules › Temperature log (or with the Configure button at the top of the module, when the tablet is allowed to).
- Tap Add an enclosure.
- Give it a name the crew recognizes: "Walk-in cooler", "Line reach-in", "Basement freezer".
- Pick the Unit family: Standard fridge, Ground meat, Fish, Cooked dishes, Dairy & eggs, Fruit & vegetables, Display case, Blast chiller or Freezer. The Target, Min and Max fields fill in with the FDA Food Code values for a US location: cold holding at 41 °F or below, freezer at 0 °F or below, produce up to 45 °F. You can tighten them if your food safety plan says so.
- Under Services concerned, check the meal periods when a reading is expected, then Save.
The unit shows up right away in the module and in today's tasks, on every tablet of the location.
Tip: a location set to another country gets that country's values (in France, 32 to 37 °F shown as 0 to +3 °C). The unit of measure follows the country; you can change it under Settings › Account & establishment › Establishment › Temperature unit.
