What happens when the reading goes over the limit?

As soon as the value you set goes over the limit, it turns red with "Out of standard (> 25 %)", and the reading cannot be validated until you say what was done.

  1. Check one or more of the suggested corrective actions (oil changed, tank taken out of service, filtering…); the list can be completed in Settings › Modules › Temperature log › "Corrective actions", and applies to every module.
  2. If you want, pick the "Cause (optional)": "Oil too old", "Filtering not done", "Frying temperature too high", "Intensive use (many fryings)".
  3. Add a detail in "Note (optional)", then "Validate".

The tank tile stays "Out of range" until the next reading or oil change, and the manager gets a notification on their phone with the tank, the value, the person and the action taken. The non-conformity shows in "History" and in Inspection mode, with the full log available through "Export PDF" or "Send".

Tip: the FDA Food Code does not set a polar-compound limit, but your health inspector will still look for a written fryer-oil routine. Change the oil before the next meal period and log the change: the log then shows the out-of-range reading and its fix on the same day.
