A dish is out of range: how do I record it?

A hot dish at 128 °F or a cold dish at 46 °F: the value turns red with Out of range and the rule next to it, and the Out of range: corrective action required block opens. The Add to batch button stays grayed out until something is filled in.

  1. Tap what was done among the suggested actions (dish reheated, dish discarded, steam table adjusted…), or describe it under Corrective action (free text).
  2. If you want, add the Cause (holding equipment too weak, waited too long before service, undercooked…) and What happened to the product (served right away, recooked, discarded…).
  3. Add to batch, then your first name and Validate as usual.

The dish shows in red in the log and in the register, with the corrective action next to it. The manager is notified.

Tip: the dish name goes under "Dish (optional)", never in the corrective action. That way the register shows the dish, the problem and the response on one line.
