What do I do when the gap is beyond the tolerance?
As soon as the value you set is farther from the reference than the tolerance, the line turns red: "gap +3.6 °F · Out of range", with the message "Gap beyond ± 2 °F: adjust, replace or set the thermometer aside." The check cannot be validated until you say what was done.
- Check one or more of the suggested corrective actions: thermometer adjusted, replaced, set aside.
- If you want, pick the "Cause (optional)": "Probe drifted", "Low battery", "Thermometer knocked or damaged".
- Add a detail in "Note (optional)", then "Validate".
The manager gets a notification on their phone with the gap, the person and the time, and the tile stays "Out of range" until a new check comes back compliant. After adjusting (most dial thermometers have a calibration nut under the head), changing the battery or replacing the unit, run the check again right away without waiting for the due date: both readings stay in the log, the failure and its fix.
Tip: a thermometer still out of tolerance after a fresh battery is not repaired, it is replaced. Take it off the line, add the new one in Settings › Modules › Calibration and check it the same day.
